Slovenia

February 2008 - A heart from a different perspective

Valentinovo Ozara together with the Slovenian association for prevention of cardiovascular disorders organized a preventive action with the title "A heart from a different perspective". A press conference was organized in the Medical Chamber of Slovenia and press releases were sent to the media.
In the Ozara centre in Ljubljana people with mental health problems listened to lectures on healthy lifestyle and on possible preventive actions to keep their heart in good condition. Blood pressure was measured and blood samples were taken and analysed immediately by means portable equipment. People received a consultation according to the results of their laboratory tests and could ask questions.

In a press conference, the HELPS Project was presented as a European effort to improve physical health of people with mental health problems.
